Rural Surgery Webinar

On Wednesday, November 12th, NCCACS hosted its inaugural Rural Surgery Webinar, bringing together experts who serve on the front lines of surgical care in rural communities. This virtual event highlighted both the challenges and the remarkable innovation happening in rural surgery across the region—and beyond.

The chapter extends its sincere gratitude to the distinguished panelists whose expertise and experiences made the webinar a true success:

Estin Yang, MD, FACS – Oregon-based surgeon and representative of the North American Rural Surgery Society

Irony Sade, MD, FACS – Trauma and General Surgeon from Yreka, CA

Ben Mundell, MD – Trauma and General Surgeon in Mammoth, CA

Amy Kwok, MD, MPH, FACS – Trauma and General Surgeon at UCSF Fresno

This inaugural webinar marks an important step in NCCACS’s efforts to support surgeons practicing in underserved and geographically isolated regions. The Chapter looks forward to building on this momentum with future programming that advances education, collaboration, and advocacy for rural surgery.
